Oakland Members Volunteer to Pass Measure I: Parcel Tax to Save Jobs & Services

Oakland members have adopted the Local 21 phone banks to pass Measure I every Wednesday night through November 15. Measure I, a five year temporary parcel tax, will help raise $11 million for public services including parks, libraries, public safety, and senior programs. The $80 per year parcel tax will apply to residential and commercial properties, and low-income residents will be eligible for an exemption. In rental properties, the cost will be split equally by landlords and tenants.
