Oakland Employee Honored by Chamber of Commerce

On June 26, Brian Kendall received the Oakland Advocate Award at the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce’s 108th Annual Meeting.

A Member of the Oakland Administrative and Professionals chapter, Kendall is project manager of the City’s Downtown Façade & Tenant Improvement Programs in the Office of Neighborhood Investment. He was honored for his work on 430 projects since 1999. The programs, which were funded by the Oakland Redevelopment Agency, provided matching grants for property and business owners to remodel and improve the appearance of the exterior or interior of their properties. By creating a critical mass of remodeled properties, the Façade Improvement Program has helped create a more vibrant environment downtown. The Tenant Improvement Program provides grants to building owners to upgrade building interiors for new tenants. The award was sponsored by Colliers International and Lowney Architecture. Congratulations on your valuable work, Brian!
