San Jose Chapters Negotiate 3-Year MOU with Raises

Local 21's San Jose Chapters achieved a three-year MOU providing many benefit enhancements along with wage increases of 3% each year.  After years of hostility toward employees and severe worker concessions, this deal is a first step in righting the ship.  Approved by Members and the City Council in late June, the new MOU, as well as settling the Measure B pension litigation, will go a long way toward stabilizing the City workforce and ensuring the continued retention of professional and managerial staff necessary to restoring City services.

The MOU started July 1 and includes 3% wage increases in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.  Our AEA, AMSP and CAMP teams were also able to restore benefits conceded during the recession, such as vacation sellback.

We hope the MOU is a return to the collaborate atmosphere at City Hall that existed before the Mayor Reed years.
